Happy Monday Wanderers!
Just wanted to do a quick blog about getting out and enjoying the outdoors. We have gotten some great weather this past weekend and I got to go outside. The sun poked her beautiful face out this past weekend to hint at the coming of spring. This encouraged us to step outside to start shedding our winter skins. It was amazing to get outside and feel her on my face again. If you follow me on Instagram you've probably have seen quite a few posts involving nature and the outdoors. Just the other day we had some epic weather. I was able to get out and go for a hike, one of my favorite things to do. I love the woods! Spending just two hours in nature can help reset your entire system.
It's time to unplug, get out and listen to the sounds of nature.
I started hiking a few years ago as a means to connect with my spiritual side. I ended up finding one of the best hobbies ever. When I go hiking I get a great workout, connect with nature and lower my anxiety. It is a great way to get some me time. I have always love the woods, there is something so magical about the trees. I grew up on a farm for most of my life and woods covered the majority of it.
I could spend hours just wandering around having my own mini adventures.
Going out into the woods is viewed as medicine in places such as; Japan, Finland and Germany. Spending time in the forest not only reduces anxiety but it also lowers blood pressure, helps with insomnia and increases your life span. The Japanese call it Shinrin - Yoku, the act of forest bathing. This practice is when you soak up the forest stimuli. The sights, sounds, and smells.
Only 15 min can raise energy and boost the immune system.
Some of my favorite outdoor activities; hiking, camping, meditation, yoga, reading in the park, and horseback riding. Even if you're not an "outdoorsy" type of person there are many ways to get some fresh air. Try starting out small, and go from there. Try sitting outdoors at a restaurant, grab a friend and take a walk around the park, go somewhere that intrigues your wild side, or visit a botanical garden.
No matter where you are, there's always time for nature.
The forest can inspire, motivate, encourage and restore our lives. Sitting amongst the invigorating sounds of all that's around is a perfect place to reflect inward. When you see the amazing way life is growing, creating and cycling, you can't help but letting go. I highly recommend spending a couple of hours walking around and finding out your favorite things do do outside.
Spirituality and Supremacy
Magic is created when we focus on a single intention until it comes to fruition. It is when we believe in ourselves and it is when we feel connected.
It's having an, "OMG I was just thinking that" moment?
There are many ways to practice magic. From meditation to setting your intentions we can all create a practice. This is where spirituality comes in to play.
Spirituality is the concept of the process of learning who you are and who you want to be.
Spirituality is personal and rooted in the connection with the people around you. It is the belief of finding your personal gifts but remembering that we are all connected. Spirituality/Magic has purpose, meaning and direction. Remember that your mind is a powerful tool and as long as their is intent behind a thought, you are creating magic.
Be careful what you wish for!
Spirituality helps in reaching conclusions and helps you to embrace moving forward. Spirituality can help with finding direction in our lives. Think about all the times you were in trouble or had a pressing problem. Was there a time during this period that you asked for help? Did the answer came to you in an unexpected way?
Spirituality can open your mind to new and exciting things.
As you develop your spirituality you open your mind and accept the beliefs of others. You have a healthy appetite to understand as well as question different views. You will begin to explore things that you want to know more about. You begin to feel deeper and have more compassion.
The more you develop the more you will create. Keep going and believe in your self.
An Afternoon At The High
I am super excited about this post, for I absolutely love our Art Museum. With a vast collection of pieces and amazing exhibits, the High offers a wonderful dose of inspiration. It's a great place to spend the day, with food options, two buildings of work and plenty of spaces to sit and create your dreams. They always have a discount or special going on, not to forget that the first Saturday of the month is free for Fulton county residents. So no reason not to visit.
This past Friday my friend and I went to see the High's latest exhibit, Iris van Herpen. While I appreciate fashion as an art, high fashion really isn't my bag of candy. This exhibit totally blew my mind. The pieces this woman creates are absolutely breath taking. The word of the day was definitely OMG!
It was as if we were at a futuristic fashion show. Dresses made from 3-d printed materials to burnt pieces of leather, it was amazing to see how this chick created them. I had quite a few favorites and plenty of pictures to prove it. What an amazing show, please please, please go check it out. You won't be disappointed, unless you know you absolutely hate fashion.
My recommendations for visiting the High Museum of Art:
"Magic only comes to those who believe in it."
