A few weeks ago I bought a copy of The Hobbit from the book store and knew it was time to finally read the story of Bilbo Baggins.
I have always loved Tolkien based art, stories and the Movies that were made from those stories. So I knew it was time to finally read The Hobbit as well as re-read the LoTR trilogy.
I have not been able to put the book down since. Well minus the occasional "life" duties, but relatively important. I'd by lying if I said I was not inspired by this book and the message it has given me so far. It has given me a creative boost to start adventuring again.
As I am closing in on the ending of this book I get to the meeting of the great Dragon, Smaug, and I received a beautiful message from a stranger. It was a great affirmation that I am on my journey and going forward in the right direction. It also gave me the inspiration to write a special note and leave it in a book for someone. What a great way to spread a smile. I believe in fairy tales. :)
Have you ever felt as if you were "here" but not "here"? Maybe you are day dreaming or getting lost in space often. Do you feel as if you are continuously in flight or die mode, insecure or just disconnected to the earth around you? It just might mean your root chakra is out of sync. I am one of those people that if my chakra's go out of whack I feel so disoriented. Here are some helpful tips about the root chakra and some ways to help it get back to balance. Plus even if you are a full time yogi it still is good to get back to the basics.
The root chakra, Muladhara in sanskrit, establishes a bond with the natural world, while minimizing the de-humanizing elements of the frantic pace of modern life. It is located at the base of the spine and color is red. Its element is Earth and it focuses on intuition, confidence and survival.
There are several ways you can ignite and balance this Chakra:
I absolutely love love love Rootz ! I started to get my yoga outfits from them a few months ago and havent been able to quite. The best part...everytime you or I purchase from my movement we can help the cause of my chouce, right now...helping to save the forests. Check it, buy some awesome leggings and relax into your daily yoga routine, but in style.
P.s did I metion some of the leggins are recycled plastic? hehehe well now I have. Enjoy. :-)
Summer Solstice * The Longest day of the year
This past week we dealt with the Retrograde of Mercury, holy moly this was a scorcher of one to deal with. I learned some pretty tough lessons about myself, friendships and my relationship. The retrograde makes us look inward and work on ourselves. So this retrograde was perfectly in line with the solstice. Allowing me to go through what I need to and release it out into the universe. Starting a fresh new season.
The Summer Solstice is a celebration of the sun, life, and happiness. After a week of looking inward we release the negative energy and attract positive energy to come into our lives. Some of the main focuses can include: personal power, joy, courage, marriage, fertillity, strength, self- confidence, career and enjoying the present. This is also a good time to focus on worldly events and bring positive light on them.
Good things to remember:
Celebrate and enjoy life!
Today my boyfriend went to Hawaii with his parents, and yup I'm staying behind in Atlanta. Separated by miles with little contact for seven days. This is going to be the longest time we've been apart in almost two years. The "past" me would love to let the ego come rolling in and spit ugly words in my ears, but the present me knows that I'll be fine. I will take the next week to get some much needed reflection time. Oh and its Mecury Retrograde.
Mecury in Retrograde is a three week period when the planet mercury appears to be in a backwards motion. This cuases most of us to experience CRAZY things going on in our lives. things like memory loss, losing time, things go missing, and the worst...the loss of all common sense. <----- This is going on for sure here in Atlanta in right now! Another thing that happens during the retrograde is our technology transforms into mini Decepticons. Which usally results in many of us yelling at the screens of our phones, laptops and sometimes our cars..."Why aren't you working!?" Keep calm, we will get through this.
Somethings NOT to do
Something TO do
So hang in there for the next couple of weeks, Retrograde ends on the first of July. Get ready to be sprung out into the sky, the arrow is being pulled back and can only go forward.
Not my first post ever, but starting something new and creating my very own blog. Yippee!! So excited I might jump out my own skin. :)
The picture above is one of my favorite hiking spots in Georgia, and it's only 10 minutes away. I call it the mini cave of wonders. It is super perfect for yoga, meditations, picnics and a place to keep dry when Atlanta has the crazy weather days.
Just one of the many adventures I've had the pleasure of experiencing. More of that later. I decided to put the cave up there to symbolize my life and entering the unknown. Sometimes we find the brightest light in the darkest tunnels.
