New Moon and Magic
I am so excited about tonight's new moon! A friend of mine earlier said I was just glowing when I was telling her about it. I mean how could I not? New moons are great for setting intentions, releasing burdens and attracting that which we desire. This new moon is especially exciting because it is in Libra. This helps us focus on new beginnings, relationships, and the energy of balance. It is time to plant your seeds of intentions for where you want to grow.
One of my favorite things to do on both the new moon and a full moon is have a release and attraction ritual allowing my dreams to be set up into the universe to manifest for my highest purpose. This is also a lot of fun for two main reasons, 1) I love to set my intentions a flame in my tiny little cauldron, (how fun is that) and 2) because once we release our intentions out into the universe we allow ourselves to be released from the burden of worrying about them.
When you are continuously focused on the problem or what you don't want, the solution can be blurry or you will just keep attracting the things that make you un happy. You see the universe/Divine can not distinguish between want and don't want. It only knows what is, that is why you will always here us healers speak about manifestation in the present tense. Act like you have and you shall receive. This also works with gratitude, speak about that which you do have and more will come of the same.
Another great thing to do during the new moon is cutting those cords. We all have energetic cords attached to us that link us between each other. I recently helped a friend of mine with removing some of her cords that were attached without her knowing. We attach cords to others and get cords attached to us by a few ways; 1) Speaking ill about someone (vice versa), 2) thinking about a person constantly, 3) toxic relationships, 4) psychic attacks and 5) we can even have cords linked by obsession or over thinking.
So how do we remove them? You can remove cords by physically taking your hand and brushing the front of your body with the intention of removal. One of my favorite tools to use for this is my sage and feather. I allow the sage to clear the energy and I use my feather to run over my body and imagine the cords cutting loose. While I do this I repeat three times, "I remove any cords I have attached, I remove any unwanted cords that have been attached to me, and I send love, light and peace." Depending on the strength of the connection you may have to repeat this a few times over the lunar cycle.
Now the fun part for us mini pyros! Setting your intentions free. If you remember few months ago I spoke about doing this for the Full moon. Grab some paper, a pen, crystals, something to sit on and a burn safe bowl (or cauldron ::giggles::). One one side of the paper take a moment to write your list of things you would like to release from your life, self or mind. These can be anything from self confidence issues, ex boyfriends, or even the removal of fear. On the other side write out your list of things you would like to attract into your life, such as new jobs, healthier relationships, clients, etc.
Finally on another sheet of paper you are going to write out your intentions for the future. Make sure to stay present, positive, and specific. For example; "I am a magnet for opportunities and success", "I am a strong and confident leader and help others achieve their goals", or "I am the owner of the house at 1234 We sing lane". <--- Bonus points if you can tell me what that address is from in the comments below. When you are all done, read your items out and then burn them. As you watch the smoke rise say a little closing remark. I usually say, I release my intentions for my highest good and purpose. I allow the universe/Divine to guide me and know that they have my back.
Before you go to bed tonight, after your little ceremony, as you close your eyes, ask to be shown a message. This could be a message with an answer to a questions, a sign for the future, or even a phone call from that job you've been waiting for.
I am always looking forward to sharing my moon ceremonies with others, so tonight if you take a photo I would absolutely love to see it. Tag me on instagram or share it on my Facebook page with what you are asking for this month. Happy New Moon!!!
So many of you might have noticed that most of my social media handles or email have the name, Bexster associated with them. I have been asked a few times about why I use that name and where it came from.
I have always been one of those people who is happy to be who I am. Not to say I haven't had my share of insecurities, addictions, or bullying, but deep down I still never wanted to change who I was. I often heard in my young twenties on how I needed to "grow up" or change so that I could get that corporate job, get that perfect man, be seen as this certain type of person. Well lets just say that those things never lasted long, because sooner or later my true self came out to the surface. The person who I am proud to be today!
One of my best friends, pretty much part of the family, was joking around about how my father was the original Jewster (Jewish form of gangsta apparently) and I was following in his footsteps, his mini me. She said when I would go into my confident, go get 'em attitude I was in my Bexster mode. She said this was my super hero comic book character, The Bexster. Do no harm but take no shit!
The Bexster comes out when someone needs to take charge, be a leader, or when I burst through the doors like I own the place. Believe it or not this can happen often. This is my confident, aware and powerful self. I have come to know and love myself through this nickname and enjoy that many people know me for it. The Bexster is optimistic, full of confidence and willing to change the world. She helps others, moves obstacles and kills zombies like a boss.
So this is why I am know in Atlanta as Bexster and wanted to share with you all on how I got the name. There are many forms of The Bexster and I love everyone of them. I love powerful nicknames, they are part of our true selves that most hide away. Do you have a favorite nickname? What about a super hero persona? I'd love to know in the comments below. Share your story with the world.
My I.N.N Special Annoucement
It has been one month since my official graduation from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I am still celebrating my decision on becoming a health coach.
I remember it like it was yesterday, sitting in my kitchen, thumbing through the program and emailing a fellow I.N.N grad. As I asked my million questions, I'm an Aquarian, I asked the final question that changed everything. "How will this change my life?" The answer was simple, food, knowledge and business training. I was set, sign me up.
I have had many people ask me about the school and what I've learned from my amazing experience with them. Some even ask why I write about them so much. It is because it changed my life, my health and excelled my coaching practice.
If you have been toying with the idea of joining this powerful school there are three main things to ask yourself; 1) Do you have a love for health and trying new foods? 2) Do love to help others achieve the best possible life they can? 3) Do you want to own your own business and get the training you need to accomplish that? Then I.N.N is for you.
For one week only, October 11th through Saturday, October 17th, I can offer you up to 30% savings on tuition. This also gives you a one time access to their lowest ever payment plan.
This offer can only be reached through an I.N.N ambassador like me! Why? Because we are here for you and want to see you succeed.
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition not only has amazing lectures, studies and exercises. They are also available on both computers and you can even do schoolwork on your phone or tablet. Yes, I totally did classes on the go with my phone. This was perfect for my flexible schedule.
