So I'm sitting here, drinking my tea, listening to the water fountains and I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I just finished my gratitude, attitude and visualization meditation, so I'm super relaxed and filled with inspiration. Earlier today I re-watched the documentary, The Secret and was instantly inspired to practice my power of manifestation. I remember when I was in my early twenties and the book came out I read it with a spirit of speculation. So of course at first it didn't work, well it worked but in the total opposite of the way I wanted it to. I was manifesting nothing but hardcore experiences, meant to teach me life lessons. Then I reread it about six years ago and it changed my entire outlook on the book and the Law of Attraction. I finally understood what was going on. You see I was focusing on nothing but the negative or things that I didn't want, so the universe gave me exactly that.
You see the Universe can't tell the difference between what we want and what we don't want. It just knows what is and what is yet to come. This is why you hear a lot of spiritual gurus speaking about living in the present moment. By living in the moment you are allowing yourself to emit powerful energy of gratitude and happiness. The Universe hears/feels this and reflects back. Now occasionally I have hiccups and bad days, I am only human, but I do try to live each day as if it is another miracle. Because it is just that, a miracle.
We are never given a timeline on how long we are here on this planet. As I was younger my mother was constantly in the hospital for a rare type of connective tissue disease. Then, when I was just a teen there was a span of exactly one year where I almost lost my father twice. First, through a stroke and then a year to the date he was in a horrible car accident. So I had learned to be afraid and grateful of hospitals at the same time. But, it was something my father said to me one day after his car accident that really stuck with me and looking back now I see the power of manifestation working. He said that a few days before his stroke he was riding behind an ambulance and thought of how incredible they were. They were a mobile hospital and the EMC's were able to perform miracles at high speeds. he said that he had thought of how he had always wanted to see the inside of one and take it for a ride. Now, flash forward to after his car accident and what he said to me. He had told me the story and then said right after, "I need to be careful what I think about now don't I" ? Holy cow did my dad just figure out the Law of Attraction?
Now onto a more positive story of positive manifestation and how the universe knows when it is the right time. Several years ago I was getting ready to move in with my ex boyfriend and we were searching for apartments. I really wanted to move into the city and tried to sneak in tours in town. At the time he was not a fan for a variety of reasons but that still didn't stop me from trying. I found the most epic of apartments and fell in love instantly. I begged, pleaded and tried making him see what was so incredible about the place, but he still didn't want to move their and we ended up moving to a more suburb type of area. Still nothing stopped me from casually taking side roads to glance at the building I so longed to live in. Here's where I manifested my desire. I visualized what it would feel like to move there, saw myself walking around the neighborhood and shopping in the city, all the while returning to the beautiful loft of my dreams. So you would have guessed the surprised look when my boyfriend and I were looking to move back to the city and I saw the same exact apartment in the pile of places to go look at. I couldn't believe it! I'll save you the long story short deal, but lets just say I am now sitting here blogging to you looking out of my dream made real.
So how does the law of attraction work? You must believe in order to see, feel in order to create and be grateful for all that you have. When you want to be successful, start believing that you all ready are, imagine and visualize what it will feel like being at the peak of your success. What does it look like, what does it feel like, who will be there with you? Start trusting your intuition and take the chances on opportunities. If you have a strong gut feeling or urge to do something without fear, do it. One of my favorite examples of the power of manifestation and the power of believing is the person who came up with Starbucks. Apparently he went to over two hundred different investors and it wasn't till the very last one that he sold his product. Now look at how much they've grown, and best yet have you ever noticed there are no commercials for the company?
One of my favorite things to do to help visualize my dreams, goals and wishes is by doing a vision board. By posting pictures, quotes, and inspirational items onto your board you are putting that energy out there of what you want. Because you are seeing the items and having a strong energetic response, a feeling, towards it. I have made a vision board for almost every aspect of my "adult" life. From professional to a bucket list type board I've made many. Now Hay House even has an app and I can create them right on my phone. Super epic.
So when you wake up in the morning, before you put your feet down, be thankful for all that you have. Wake up in happiness and gratitude. Know that everything you want to create will come to you at the right time. Think Positive, Present and Specific. Be grateful and be kind, that which you ask for shall be received. Remember, don't focus on what you don't have, but what you do have. you have the power inside you, trust in yourself.
