You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. — Danielle LaPorte
You are an unique amazing individual and were meant to do great things in this life. Don't let others define who you are!. A while ago I was running into a common theme of being "too much" for people. I was too loud, too youthful, too big or too wild. It wasn't until I began to surround myself with people that truly cared about me that I was really able to let my true self out and realize that those who criticized my true self actually were insecure with their own personalities.
When we change our self to be who someone else wants us to be we limit our potential. Think back to the times you changed just so you could be what another person desired. How did that make you feel? If in these times you felt caged, betrayed and disappointed why did you make the sacrifice?
We have all been there but now is the time to stop! Pause for a moment a remember who you are. Sounds like something from the Lion King..."Remeber who you are Simba." The truth is on some level it is extremely hard to be yourself, jobs, teachers, and even parents can set expectations upon you and you may or may not be aware. Expectations are pointless in my opinion. I feel as if they are only there to set us up for disappointment. So no judgements, no guilt, no expectations, just be yourself.
You are an amazing individual with tons of potential go out and show the world!
