The Works in Wild Ways
I have found that the Universe knows exactly what it's doing. While I sometimes fight it and even try to be stubborn, I know what is meant to be, will be. The Universe hands us lessons and gives us gifts. All of these with specific reasons and purpose. The Universe knows what you are ready for, and it certainly has our back when we think the world is against us. It shows our strength and and has us prove our determination for life and the pursuit of our dreams. The Universe has handed me an incredibly tough few lessons the past few weeks and I felt as if I was no where near ready for any of them, but yet again the Universe knew I was.
I dealt with old wounds, work related stresses, technology not working, sickness, miscommunication with others and lots of my insecurities creeping back up to the surface. What in the Sam Hill! I mean I am the "happiness" person, right? Apparently I am human too and can't be happy all the time, Even I have bad days, tough times and mini meltdowns. I give myself about an hour or so of the poor me attitude and then I go to my little bag of tricks and pick myself back up.
This got jump started, with the start of this year's Mercury Retrograde and putting on my Moldavite Charm! Mercury Retrograde is time of introspection, dealing with things coming to the surface and a heap of feelings rushing through and Moldavite is a stone that helps bring things to the surface as well as amplify the healing process. Yesterday, It all came crashing down and sadly I just fell apart at work. It is at times like these even I have to go back to the basics to work myself back up. I spent some time thinking about the day, the lessons I have been shown and the positive possibilities that will come out from this situation. This morning I woke with a smile realizing that I still am being shown exactly what I need and exactly when I need to learn from it!
A Happy Bag of Tricks
A Happy Bag of Tricks is a list of things that you can refer to when times get tough. It is something you can carry with you or leave in a safe space to look at when needed. What makes you feel better when your sad, a good movie, a cup of tea? What calms you down when you are angry, how bout a bubble bath? Who can you turn to when you need an ear, your friends, family or significant other?
So grab your journal or a piece of paper and draw out a bag, big enough to hold all your tricks. Bonus points for using colors! Sit for a moment and think about what makes you happy when you're upset. Write down your list any way you like. When you are having a bad day come back to this page and go through your list. As you find new ones add them to your list and remember if is always ok to have a bad day. Try not to take it out on others and give yourself some extra love.
